Piano and Violin Lessons

It is never too late in life to learn a musical instrument and I teach students in both piano and violin ranging between ages 5 and 65. Whilst I am classically trained I am able to teach different styles on both piano and violin and will tailor lessons to suit the individual needs and interests of the student.

Whilst many students take lessons in piano and violin for interest or as a hobby, rather than in pursuit of a music career, I will assist those students wishing to enter exams. I have been very successful with students completing exams in either piano or violin and currently hold a 100% ABRSM pass rate. I also tutor students wishing to complete the music aspect for school entrance and currently have a 100% pass rate with those students.

I also teach music theory alongside piano and violin as I am of the belief that some knowledge in music theory is necessary as foundational work in understanding how to play any instrument. However, I also teach music theory as a subject on it's own for those students who want to take their exams in this subject.

Music Theory Lessons

I am of the opinion that anyone wishing to learn to play an instrument needs to learn some musical theory and therefore do teach a certain amount of music theory alongside practical lessons. However, I also teach music theory as a subject on it's own for those students who want to take their exams in this subject.

Any students who wish to progress further than grade 5 on their chosen instruments will need to sit a grade 5 theory exam.

Accompanist

I am contactable as an accompanist having assisted local choirs, private events and music exams. I am prepared to be flexible with fees depending on the level of the playing and the amount of work and travel time involved.

I am available as an accompanist for recitals entrance auditions, rehearsals and exams.
